Operational Excellence Serving Utah

Innovative Waste Solutions

Leading the industry in environmental safety, technological innovation, and long-term waste management since 1989.

A Legacy of Stewardship

Construction of the Bayview Landfill began in 1989, accepting its first municipal solid waste (MSW) in 1990. From its inception, Bayview was designed to meet and exceed federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) standards.

In 2016, ownership transferred from the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District (SUVSWD) to the Northern Utah Environmental Resource Agency (NUERA). This strategic partnership allows us to share resources with North Pointe, Trans-Jordan Cities, and Wasatch Integrated Waste Management Districts, increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs.

With a projected lifespan extending beyond 2098, Bayview is a long-term infrastructure asset for Utah.

Advanced Containment Technology

Setting industry standards for environmental protection.

National EPA Recognition

The Liner System

In 1993, Bayview gained national attention for utilizing a pioneering three-layer synthetic defense system:

We maintain 16+ groundwater testing wells, monitoring quality quarterly.

Wind Fencing

The tallest wind fence in the Western U.S. (45ft). Its specialized tilted arm captures 94% of windblown debris, preserving the surrounding landscape.

Cell Management & GPS

The landfill is divided into “cells,” and utilized one “face” at a time. Daily cover controls odors and vermin.

Smart Compaction: Advanced GPS technology optimizes air space usage, prolonging cell life by up to 5 years.

Renewable Energy

Bayview utilizes a Landfill Gas (LFG) to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility. This system captures methane generated by decomposing waste and upgrades it for injection into the Kern River Gas Transmission pipeline, turning waste into clean energy.

Have Questions?

We’ve got answers:

I'm a resident. Can I bring my own load?

No. Bayview is strictly a commercial facility. We do not accept public/residential drop-offs. Please contact your city for residential services or find a public local waste facility within our district here >.

Drivers exiting their cabs must wear **High-Visibility Vests** and **Safety-Toed Boots**. Hard hats are recommended. Failure to comply violates our safety permit.

The speed limit is **15 MPH** on main access roads and **5 MPH** near the scale house and active face. Speeding creates dust hazards and endangers ground personnel.

Scales are open Mon-Fri, 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Gates close promptly. We observe all federal holidays; check the Announcements for holiday schedules.

Yes. All loads must be fully tarped before entering the facility. Unsecured loads are subject to surcharges and potential rejection to prevent litter on county roads.

No. Bayview is strictly a commercial facility. We do not accept public/residential drop-offs. Please contact your city for residential services or find a public local waste facility within our district here >.

We use a state-of-the-art **3-Layer Synthetic Liner** system (EPA recognized). Additionally, 16 monitoring wells around the perimeter are tested quarterly to ensure zero leakage.

Bayview operates a **Landfill Gas to Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)** facility. Methane is captured via extraction wells, refined, and injected into the pipeline as green energy.

Operations pause when sustained winds exceed 40 MPH to prevent debris scatter. Drivers may be held at the staging area or turned away until conditions improve.

Special waste requires a pre-approved profile. We accept non-friable asbestos and contaminated soils only with proper manifests and prior scheduling. Contact admin for forms.

Bayview is a private commercial facility. We currently are not accepting any new applications. Please Contact Us > for more info.
