The Northern Utah Environmental Resource Agency (NUERA) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
The Bayview Landfill website is designed to be fully compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
Accessibility Features
- Keyboard Navigation: All menus, forms, and interactive elements are navigable using the Tab key.
- High Contrast: We utilize a high-contrast color palette (Nuera Dark on White/Light Gray) to ensure readability for users with visual impairments.
- Alt Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text.
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus rings are implemented for all focusable elements.
- Skip to Content: A “Skip to Main Content” link is available at the top of the page for screen reader users.
